On location-Fines Creek, NC Ferguson’s Crossroads Store HWY 209. Farmers talk with Mark Rosenstein about the old days on the Liars Bench
Our film ‘Preserve’ was in production from July 2012 through November 2012 and is a vignette film on heritage farming of our region in Southern Appalchia, featuring local farmers, chefs, and key individuals of Asheville. Captured here are ‘salt of the earth’ stories that drive home the importance of the local foods, culture and history of our region.
We, in affiliation with, and support from the Appalachian Food Storybank, The Heritage Foods Committee and Slow Foods Asheville have captured and portrayed these stories in a cinematic depiction of what it truly means to preserve the heritage, culture, and craft upon the mountains of Western North Carolina in such changing and challenging times.
